Here’s a few more experiences that have trickled in:

Fort Johnson Charter High School

It took 1 hour and 40 minutes…although i think it would have taken a little bit longer…my precinct was moved up a bit. Everyone was nice…and patient. There were hundreds of people in line…wrapping all around the school and through the parking lot. Pretty exciting and fun really. Bring a book.
I love voting, it’s liberating. :) - Meredith Perdue

Hibben United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant

There were probably a few dozen people waiting in line at this polling place on Coleman Boulevard when I arrived at 2:15 p.m., but almost all were there for Precinct 6. I waited for only a minute or two before a poll worker walked outside to double-check that everyone was actually at the right precinct. When I said I was in Precinct 7, she said, “Oh, there’s no wait. Please come with me.” There must have been over 150 people in line for Precinct 6, but there was no one there for Precinct 7 but me. How weird. I signed in and voted in less than five minutes. And the independent ticket I was hoping to see on the ballot was in fact on the ballot, thank goodness. —T. Ballard Lesemann

St. Andrew’s Intermediary School, West Ashley

Two hour wait at 10am.  Everything went smooth.  Definitely some crazies to keep you entertained in West Ashley.  Majority of the waiting is outside, so if it’s looking like rain, bring your umbrella! - Colby Chisolm

Fort Johnson Middle School
In the morning the line was about a 3 hour wait, at noon it was 1 1/2-2 hours but quickly died down after 2:30. -Arlene Lagos

Folly Beach

Steadily an hour to hour and a half wait all day. But if you’re in Precinct 1 (there’s two on the island, broken between west and east sides of center street),  you can pretty much walk in, get your card, and then just wait in the vote line - about 15 minutes total. For some reason even though 4/5 of the population probably lives on the east side, they’ve got it split that way.
Currently there’s about 60 people out the door in the precinct 2 line, and it looks like rain.

No weird sightings except a couple of old beach rats talking about big bags of cocaine in the ’70s and how they’re voting for McCain -Stratton Lawrence
