ibrick.jpgIf you have an iPhone, you should hold off on upgrading to the new firmware update they have released. Also, many of the newly released 3g phones are unusable across the country (and the UK) because of activiation problems. If iTunes tells you “There is a new version of iPhone software, would you like to install it?” Click cancel or no.

There are widespread reports of iTunes 7.7: causing major iPod/iPhone connectivity problems. Also, the iTunes Store servers have consistent connection failures (probably because of the new 3G phones released today). Calls to iPhone tech support give only a recorded “There is no-one currently available to help you. (Click)”

Apple has really screwed the pooch on this one. What makes it even worse is the complete silence about the issues from Apple. There is no mention in the support area and the discussion boards are ablaze with complaints with many planning to sell the phone as quickly as possible.

So, I’d recommend not syncing or upgrading your phone for at least a few days.
